Preston associates "gramma's house" with the "ocean", "beach", "sand", crabs" and things such as that. He LOVES to go to the beach and play. He has his own shovel and bucket and has a great time scooping up the sand and putting it in the bucket. Below, grandpa and Preston are exploring a "sidewalk" at English Boom.
Preston is always so good natured and happy. He was wearing his dad's baseball cap and thought he was pretty cool. Whenever he picked up a stick, he would always ask me if it was okay for him to throw it in the water.
One day, Preston helped grandpa wash the truck and picked up the truck keys which were laying on the porch. He accidentally hit the "panic button" and started the horn blaring.....it scared him to death. After the tears dried up, he discovered the front doorbell......he would push the doorbell to make it ring, and then yell "I push the button, I push the button" and then proceeded to push the button about 3 dozen times.
Preston LOVES cars.....that is really an understatement. For a two-year old, he seems to know a LOT about cars. His favorite movie is "Cars" and he loves the characters Lightning McQueen, Mator and Doc Hudson. He has a miniature Hot Wheels version of all of them. But this week, we took Preston out to our friends Brent and Connie's house so Preston could see a REAL Hudson Hornet. He was so excited, that all day he would keep asking "see Hornet, see Hornet?" Brent has a Hudson Hornet Convertible which is an extremely rare find, as there are only a handfull in existence. He collects and restores old cars as a hobby. He takes them to Car Shows around the country....and usually wins "Best of Show" with his cars. Below, his two Hudsons in the maintainance garage getting spruced up for a car show next week.
Brent even let Preston stand in his collector's Hudson Hornet........with an anxious grandma close by, I might add.
Then we went into another car barn and Preston went into "sensory overload." There were dozens of cars just his size and Brent let him climb into anything he wanted to. Preston called the black Eldorado in this photo a "police car" because it was black like the one in the movie "Cars."
One of the most interesting cars that Brent has is what he calls a Packenburg.....it is an old Packard that was lengthened to put a Dusenburg motor in it.....definitely one of a kind. He will load up his grandkids and take this car out on the freeway and for a tour around Camano Island. Wouldn't that be fun!
On all the shelves around the car barn, are model cars of every imaginable make and color. Below is Brent showing Preston the Hudson Hornet model.

Ohhhh wow. Just looking at these photos...I can now see why Preston was in heaven! Look at ALL THOSE CARS!!!! Did he go nuts with the little mini cars? Did Brent let him sit in the little ones? Those are so cute!
He has quite the collection! I wish I could have seen Preston there. I'm glad he as well behaved. :) thanks for taking him out to McKinley's for that experience - he's been talking about the "hornet" for days.
And thanks again for taking Preston for us. It helped me out a lot and he LOVES LOVES LOVES going to "brammas's house". We had to be careful to not ask too much about bramma's house when he got home because every time we did, he would get upset and start whining "Bramma's house????" and I tried to explain that "bramma" was at church playing the piano. Haha.
Like I said....he was literally on sensory overload. He loved it! And yes, Brent let him sit in any of the little cars he wanted to.
He sure loves spending time with you two! Thanks for helping Jenni out. And that is probably my fault about Preston hitting the panic button. I let him push on ours, but he never has enough strength to activate it.
