Summer Picnic at the Beach

Today was a perfect day in the Pacific Northwest. It was a gorgeous 71 degrees, with a slight breeze, a beautiful blue sky with big puffy white clouds. But the best part of the day, was being able to spent it with my family. We piled everyone into "grandpa's truck" and drove up to Anacortes for a wonderful picnic: fruit salad, chicken, pasta salad, chips, deviled eggs and chocolate cupcakes just for Preston. (Below: grandma and 10 month old munchkin Taylor.....who loved to play in the dirt!!)

Will and Jenni brought their kayaks, and took a little cruise around Cap Sante Marina with Preston. I played in the sand with Taylor, while grandpa took our picture.

The harbor was very busy today, and there were some very interesting boats going in and out. This one caught our eye.....

Preston saw several boats that were bright colored....especially one that was red. He got real excited and said: "Look at the really BIG red boat!!" (Below: oil tankers, sail boats, "pirate" clipper, fishing boats, and tugs.....quite the harbor full.)

It was a perfect day.....sunshine, good food, beautiful scenery and best of all......MY FAMILY !!
